It’s Dawning on Me

Hi! And WELCOME, my friend!

Who:

I’m Joan Griffin and this is my blog and newsletter It’s Dawning on Me.

When:

I publish my It’s Dawning on Me stories and essays on a random schedule, shooting for one story/essay every month.

  • I’d like to say there will be a new story/essay every Friday or on the 1st and 15th of every month, but I’d just end up disappointing you and me both.

  • Instead, there will be a new story or essay—a new post and a newsletter—whenever the muse strikes!

What:

My writing reflects a broad array of interests—themes and subjects are an eclectic assortment of topics and ideas I hope you, too, will find interesting.

  • I write about hiking and traveling and simply enjoying the beauty in the world—natural beauty as well as human-created beauty.

  • I write about the messy process of writing and about my love of good books.

  • And, of course, there will be stories about strong women—perhaps my favorite subject.

  • My memoir, Force of Nature: Three Women Tackle the John Muir Trail, was recently released, so you’re sure to read about that trail, those women, and related events.

  • I’ve just begun my second memoir (nameless as yet) about being an adoptee in my “real” adoptive family and meeting my two birth families in recent years, so there will be family stories, too.
