Earth Day - Earth Month
Read Your Way Through April with a Carefully Curated Collection of 30 Books for 30 Days!
This gorgeous springtime month of April is bursting forth with flowers and buds. The sky is cerulean blue and the hillsides are a vivid green. The occasional gray cloud and sprinkle are welcome, too. After all, as the old saying goes, “April showers bring May flowers!” April also turns our thoughts to Mother Nature. Are you like me? Are you conspiring ways to ditch responsibilities and get out on that garden path or that nature trail? Maybe you’re planning something outdoors for the coming weekend?
The “Read Your Way Through Earth Month” Project
My book collection project has been underway since April 1 and is moving swiftly through the days and the books. All the titles in the curated calendar-list above have nature- or Earth-centered themes. There are nonfiction books about the science of trees, animals, and the environment. There are mysteries, thrillers, and historical fiction. There memoirs and climate-fiction, hiking stories and even one romance and a collection of short stories. There’s something for everyone on your list, including yourself.
I’ve been giving talks, introducing this eclectic collection of interesting books and their authorsat a variety of organizations. Special thanks to Lincoln Public Library, OLLI at Sierra College, Springfield Community Book Club, and Placer Earth Care Action. Thank you to everyone who attended one of the gatherings!
The Placer Earth Care Action group in Auburn recorded my presentation, which was both in person and via Zoom, and they have made the recording publicly available. So, if you wish you could have attended one of the talks, you still have an opportunity to do so virtually. You won’t be able to win one of the Book Bingo prizes, though. Here’s the link to that recording on their website.
If you’d like a copy of the calendar and the list, you can download it on my website at www.joangriffin.us While you’re there, be sure to sign up to win a copy of one of the books from the calendar-list. Also sign up for a Goodreads giveaway of my own book, Force of Nature.

Earth Day Event! Join Me for a Conversation with Authors
On Earth Day—Tuesday, April 22, at 4pm Pacific (7pm Eastern)—I will be hosting a Zoom Conversation with Authors. Several of the authors of books in the Earth Month calendar-list will be joining me on Zoom to chat about their books. I’ll be asking questions, and if you’re there, you can ask questions, too.
Email me at joangriff@gmail.com to sign up for the Zoom link. The Zoom discussion will be recorded, so if you sign up but cannot attend, you will receive the link to the recording.
