Tiptoe through the treetops!
See the forest from the trees!
Climb 100 feet into the air and walk through the second-growth redwood canopy on a quarter-mile trail of bridges and platforms. What an amazing experience, seeing the forest from a bird’s perspective, from a vantage point most people never have an opportunity to visit!
Nicky Pitman and I made this the first stop on our roadtrip along the coast of Northern California and Oregon. The Sky Walk had just opened weeks before we visited in August 2021. The pictures speak for themselves. You can see the immense size of the trees and the intense beauty of the trees. But the photos don’t convey the crisp, fresh air, tinted with the sweet-sharp scent of redwood and and the muskiness of duff. Nor do they show the peaceful hush that fills the forest, because the feathery layers of green needles absorb sound like snow does.
After wandering around in the treetops for more than an hour, we ventured onto the trails through the lush park far below the Sky Walk for an entirely different view, the normal human perspective.

Amazing experience. I'm afraid of heights, but think I can manage this. It's not in the tree tops!
Beautiful photos. Need to find an excuse to have Daria drive up with me.
I'm afraid of heights, but your photos are so beautiful and your description so inviting, I might have to watch Vertigo again and cure myself. Let's go together. Linda D
