Congratulations on your book deal. Just reading that little bit had me hiking right along with you and your companions, sharing the tension and then the relief. It will be a great way to do the hike vicariously through your words. Looking forward to the book.

Great job! Wish I had known you when I had 50 year old legs to go hiking with you! No wonder you wanted to hike in the Alps.

Loved all the adjectives you used to describe each experience and feeling. My former creative writing teacher in high school would have been so pleased, (unlike with my writing . . . . .)

Glad you brought with you good survival gear. That reference made it very believable. (Never thought about all the metal in my clothes. My water proof jacket has a plastic zipper, but not my jeans and glasses . . . . Yikes!) Anyway, congratulations on being a published author!

Thanks, Terry, for reading and commenting! My legs are no longer fifty-year-old strong either, but my spirit of adventure is still going strong! I know yours is too!

Beautifully written. You had me there shivering, wet and fearful. Great job drilling down to third level emotions, deft imagery brought the reader into the experience along with great sensory detail. Can't wait to read the whole experience. Congratulations Joan - happy for your forthcoming launch.

The drama from John Muir's quote to what was happening, LIVE, it felt, hooked me, and the last few sentences made me HAVE to read on!

I couldn't turn the page fast enough! Well, roll down the phone page fast enough. You had me there on the mountain with you. I felt the icy rain and freezing feet and could smell the ozone. Ready for the next challenge.

Thanks, Art! I will definitely invite you to my book signing events! That was a funny and heartwarming story about that author-signing event where no one showed up. Then Steven King and several Top Ten authors came to her rescue! Wow! Can you even imagine?
